Baker: “We don’t need a choreographed summit, we need a clean slate.”

Conway, Ark. – United States Senate Candidate Senator Gilbert Baker has issued the following statement in response to President Obama’s Health Care Summit:

“While I’m glad to see open, transparent talks on health care reform, we don’t need a choreographed summit, we need a clean slate.  Washington hasn’t been listening to the people, but I hear them loud and clear. The people of Arkansas and this country want quality, affordable health care; we can achieve this with medical liability reform, creating small business pools for insurance, making health insurance portable across state lines, and not discriminating on the basis of pre-existing conditions. Americans need more than just bi-partisan concern over health care reform; they need bi-partisan action.”
